NMSP investigating deadly police taking pictures in Española

ESPAÑOLA, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police are investigating a lethal police taking pictures that occurred on Sunday in Española. Based on NMSP, an Española Police Division officer discovered a stolen Jeep in a Walgreens parking zone. They are saying 28-year-old Jeffrey Martinez was within the automobile and fled on foot.

They are saying an officer gave verbal instructions to Martinez and that the officer finally fired their weapon hitting Martinez who later died on the hospital. No officers had been injured.
