It’s the key to making summer makeup last.

I began using eye primer the minute I started wearing eye makeup. I quickly learned that the latter was moot without the former. Whether you have hooded eyelids (me) or because the humidity will remain over 60 percent for the next few months (also me), a good eye primer will prevent the smudging, creasing, and melting of your eye makeup. My go-to option is $28, and I never thought about its price or efficacy twice until I came across Elizabeth Mott’s top-rated but half-the-price Thank Me Later Eye Primer.

If this is also your introduction to the brand, here’s the need to know: Elizabeth Mott is a Korean beauty brand named after no one in particular. All of its products are cruelty-free and $20 or less. Thank Me Later is a vibrancy-enhancing, oil-controlling, wear-elongating, and makeup-perfecting eye primer, and is one of my favorites from the brand.

Calling Thank Me Later top-rated is almost underselling it since, if we’re being exact, it has a staggering 16,000-plus five-star ratings and is the 13th top seller in Amazon’s entire primer category. The appeal is pretty straightforward—it’s affordable and does what it promises (and much more).

One reviewer said Elizabeth Mott’s primer makes eye makeup last all day despite “100-degree [weather] and 95 percent humidity.” Another shopper said its staying power is so “out-of-this-world” that their eyeliner would “look great for two days straight if [they] weren’t so diligent about cleaning [their] face nightly.”

Thank Me Later Eye Primer is especially loved by mature shoppers. One wrote, “[it] blurs wrinkles… and really does make eyeshadow and under-eye concealer last for a full 24-hour day.” A 69-year-old reviewer with “wrinkled eyelids” said this “goes on easily and doesn’t crease in [fine] lines.”

Head to Amazon to shop Elizabeth Mott’s $14 Thank Me Later Eye Primer, which shoppers call a “waterproof makeup miracle.” And while you’re at it, check out a few more shopper-loved primers, below.
