One of the best digital photo frames we’ve tested is on sale for Father’s Day

Do you have a picture that just sums up all things “dad?” Is your dad impossible to shop for? If you answered yes to either of those questions, we have the perfect Father’s Day gift for you: the Frameo 10.1-inch Wi-Fi Digital Picture Frame. This electronic memory trove is marked down at Amazon for Prime members, and it will arrive in time for Father’s Day. It’s also one of the best digital frames of 2024 — in fact, our senior tech editor named it the “best budget digital photo frame.”

With the Frameo’s 40,000-pic capacity, Dad’s next stroll down memory lane will itself be an experience to remember. How meta!

Why is this a good deal? 💰

While not quite the lowest price we’ve ever seen, this is still marked down nearly 25% and is darn close to the record low. Given that you’re in crunch time when it comes to scoring a sweet gift for your dear old pa, this is a great option for someone on a tight budget and an even tighter timeframe. Most other frames on the market average between $50 and $60, even when on sale.

Why do I need this? 🤔

See above comments re this being a terrific Father’s Day gift. Something else to keep in mind: If your impression of digital photo frames is from the ones that came around circa 2012, forget everything you thought you knew: The Frameo is way easier to use and has tons of features that make it a great state-of-the-art gift. For starters, you don’t need to physically connect to the frame to share content. You can send photos and videos up to 15 seconds long from anywhere in the world, as long as you have the free app.

Also: Its frame automatically rotates uploaded photos from landscape to portrait orientation, or vice versa. With built-in storage up to 16GB (and expandable up to 32GB through a microSD card), this digital frame can hold a ridiculous number of pictures and video. It’s also easy to see, even from the side; with a viewing angle of 178 degrees, the Frameo doesn’t look as washed-out as some frames do when seen at a sharp angle.

Then there’s the ability to zoom in on certain images, display captions, adjust the brightness, and much more. It’s totally customizable and a great way to keep those special moments on constant display. After all, everyone has a camera in their hand now, and we take way more pictures than we used to.

What reviewers say 💬

With over 1,000 flawless ratings, the Frame Digital Picture Frame is a popular gadget.

Pros 👍

Got a tech-averse dad? No worries! “This is the easiest frame for anyone who is easily intimidated by technology,” assured this fan. “On the user end, all they have to do is turn it on when they want. And even that is optional, since in the settings you can have it turn on and off automatically at different times of the day.”

And don’t let geography get in the way of your gifting this frame. This dutiful daughter didn’t: “I got this for my parents when I moved out of state. Easy enough to set up on the phone with them. Easy to send photos too. You can delete old ones from your app so they just have to sit back and enjoy the photos.”

There’s even a social aspect to the frame. “You can interact with images and videos that are sent to you by touching the screen and adding emojis back to the sender. So fun!” one fan said.

Cons 👎

Like so many modern products, the power design could use a bit of work. “It must be plugged in (as I would expect); however, the cord isn’t very long and the plug that goes into the outlet is big and bulky.”

Another shopper said they wished it could go cordless altogether. “I wouldn’t mind if it took batteries so I could place it anywhere.”

Remote uploading means it, and you, can be the gifts that keep on giving.
