A mechanic at an Amazon distribution center in southern Florida died early Tuesday morning after a van he was engaged on fell on him.

The Port St. Lucie Police Division instructed Enterprise Insider in a press release that 42-year-old Andrew Tabannah turned trapped underneath an Amazon delivery van when the jack stand propping it up failed.

Tabannah’s coworkers positioned extra jacks underneath the van and had been in a position to pull him out and carried out “life saving measures till an ambulance arrived.”

The St. Lucie County Hearth Division arrived on the scene shortly after midnight. Tabannah was transferred to an area hospital and later pronounced lifeless.
