A motorcyclist implicated of getting away a scene that eliminated his guest in late July was detained and billed on Monday.
Johnston authorities stated Todd William Phillips, 44, of Colfax collapsed his bike while intoxicated around twelve o’clock at night at the crossway of Merle Hay Roadway and Northwest Beaver Drive on July 27. The guest was Michelle Shawhan, 46, of Des Moines, that was seriously hurt and later passed away as a result of her injuries.
After the accident, authorities state Phillips ran away the scene. A K9 police officer discovered him “concealing close by,” according to a press release.
Phillips was billed with running while intoxicated, driving while disallowed, automobile murder and leaving the scene of a crash causing fatality.
