Free summer time meals accessible for kids and youths

Jun. 14—Free meals can be found to youths 18 and underneath in Flathead County over the summer time months when college isn’t in session.

Meals can be served at colleges, parks and different areas in Evergreen, Kalispell, Somers-Lakeside and Whitefish beginning June 17. Columbia Falls areas have already began serving meals.

No registration, proof of earnings or identification is required to take part at any location and all youths are welcome to take part at any website. The Summer season Meals Service Program works to make sure that youth from low-income households and neighborhoods get nutritious meals when college is on summer time break. The college district receives federal and state reimbursement for the variety of meals served. Somers-Faculty District additionally obtained grant funding from No Child Hungry, a nationwide program run by nonprofit Share Our Power.
