Over $38 million price of medication seized at border in Could

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — U.S. Customs and Border Safety on Monday launched Could drug seizure stats for the San Diego Discipline Workplace.

The San Diego Discipline Workplace — comprised of the San Ysidro, Otay Mesa, San Diego air and seaport, Calexico East/West, Tecate, and Andrade Ports of Entry — seized $38.3 million price of medication final month, border officers stated.

In 165 separate smuggling makes an attempt from Could 1 to Could 31 on the San Diego Discipline Workplace, CBP officers confiscated 4.31 kilos of marijuana, 21.73 kilos of heroin, 913.9 kilos of cocaine, 561.91 kilos of fentanyl and 16,408.94 kilos of methamphetamine.

“These extraordinary efforts stand as a testomony to the diligent and distinctive work by our officers,” stated Sidney Ok. Aki, CBP Director of Discipline Operations for San Diego. “The interdiction of those medicine not solely disrupts prison networks but in addition underscores the significance for continued vigilance and collaboration within the struggle towards drug trafficking.”

The second-largest San Diego Discipline Workplace methamphetamine seizure on report, and third- largest nationwide, occurred in Could on the Otay Mesa Industrial Facility, based on CBP.

The entire seizures in Could have been part of Operation Apollo, targeted on combatting the smuggling of fentanyl into the U.S.

The suspects within the drug seizures have been arrested and turned over to Homeland Safety Investigations for additional investigation.
